We collect information in three broad ways: what you give us directly, what we collect automatically, and what we receive from third parties you connect with us (such as a mentor referral or affiliated service).

Identity & contact

Name, email address, phone number, and city, typically provided when you fill an enquiry form, register for a consultation, or subscribe to updates.

Academic profile

Your current academic stage, subject area, target university or programme, and research interests, shared so mentors can tailor guidance to your stage of the journey.

Communications

Records of calls, emails, and messages between you and our mentors or support team, kept for continuity of guidance and quality purposes.

Usage data

Pages visited, time spent, referring links, device and browser type, and general location (city-level), collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies.

Uploaded materials

Any drafts, proposals, or documents you voluntarily share with a mentor for feedback, described further in Section 4 below.

We use the information we collect to:

• Match you with a mentor appropriate to your research stage and subject area
• Respond to enquiries and provide the guidance you have requested
• Send updates about your mentorship journey, and — where you have opted in — doctoral guidance content, research tips, and programme announcements
• Improve the Platform, our content, and the structure of our 25-stage mentorship framework
• Maintain the security of the Platform and prevent misuse
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions

We do not use your academic profile or communications for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

If you share thesis drafts, proposals, or other academic work with a mentor for feedback, that material is treated as confidential. We do not reuse, repurpose, publish, or share your academic content with any third party without your explicit consent, and it is never used to train external tools or shared with other scholars.

We share information only in the following circumstances:

• With mentors assigned to you — solely to provide the guidance you have requested
• With affiliated Anushram services (such as our thesis writing, publication, or analytical services at anushram.com), only where you have expressed interest in those services
• With service providers who support our operations, such as hosting, email delivery, or analytics providers, under confidentiality obligations and only to the extent necessary to provide their service
• Where required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request from a court or regulatory authority

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features of the Platform, such as staying signed in between visits.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. If you ask us to delete your data and there is no legal or legitimate business reason to keep it, we will delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period.

• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time
• Object to or restrict certain uses of your information

The Platform is intended for individuals aged 18 and above, or those accessing it with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 without such involvement. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can remove it.

Anushram Edge supports scholars across India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and other countries. If you access the Platform from outside India, your information will be transferred to and processed in India, where our servers and team are based, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, make reasonable efforts to notify registered users directly.
